Flex is a free open-source framework designed by Adobe for the development of interactive, cross-platform Rich Internet Applications with an easy-to-use, attractive appearance. These web applications may be executed in any of the more common browsers using Adobe® Flash® Player and Adobe AIR®.
There is no end to the potential uses. Flex applications can be integrated with a database using XML, and you can display analysis or comparison results using tables or visually attractive graphs. The best-known RIA applications currently in use are Google Maps and the online election barometer.
